Family
As a mom of three I know even what is "cheap" can quickly become expensive when more heads are involved. I hate when I have to tell the kids we can't do something because mommy can't afford it. Well, if you have ever felt this way, have no fear! I'm here to share all the affordable and even FREE things I have found to help your family have fun without going broke!
I don't know much about art but I know I love losing myself in it's beauty! The High Museum currently offers free admission the Second Sunday of every month from 12pm-5pm with special family-friendly programming from 1pm-4pm. They have a permanent collection of more than 15,000 classic and contemporary works of art which will leave you and your little ones in awe. They also have temporary exhibitions that change every couple months so if you've already visited before you'll still want to return for more.

The Second Sunday Program is part of the Family Fun Series at the Woodruff Arts Center which is sponsored by the Lettie Pate Evans Foundation. Visit their website to learn more about other Family Fun Programming.
FREE Home Depot Kids Workshop
About once a month, Home Depot hosts a FREE Kids Workshop where your child can build a special project they get to take home and play with or display. The project vary each month. My kids have personally put together coasters , trucks, and storage boxes. All kids receive a certificate of achievement, apron, and a commemorative pin while supplies last.

Mommy hint: buy some paint and clear coat spray to paint at home. The clear coat adds a nice sheen and helps protect from chips. My kids' coasters have lasted us for years.
Select bowling centers around the country are participating in the Kids Bowl Free Program to offer your kids something fun and affordable to do this summer. Click the sign up now link to find a participating location near you and register!

Is it just me or are movie ticket price getting a little ridiculous? I actually decided to take the family to one of the new TMNT movies when it came out a couple years ago. It was $60! Talk about sticker shock. Unfortunately, I already had three very excited little kids so there was no turning back. At that point it was money well spent to not have to deal with the crying and possible screaming. To be honest it had been years since I had actually gone to see a new release especially not outside of matinee hours. Although matinee prices are still not that great of a deal when you have to multiply that by 4! I still never expected a movie ticket to be $15. Seriously people stop pirating those movies!

I don't think I even waited for the movie to end to start my Google Search and came across Picture Show Movie Theater in Marietta. For those of you who don't live close, neither do I but the 30 minute drive is worth the $52 savings! Ok so they don't have new releases but they usually have them before Redbox and at least you get the movie theater experience. Now the food is still about the same price as other theaters and that's a whole other struggle and rant but you can at least put those savings towards some popcorn. For me, i'll still make sure the kids are fed before we go! LOL
